Freycinet Marine Farm

On the way into Freycinet Lodge, or should I say Freycinet National Park, there were a lot of farms along the way selling nice fresh seafood.

Freycinet Marine Farm is on the Freycinet peninsula on Tasmania's East Coast. A cool and clean place designed to welcome everyone to taste their fresh seafood produce.

Baked Scallops

Oyster Kill Patricks

The price of the food are cheap so don't expect anything like what you can get in a posh restaurant. The staff are really friendly, nicely cooked oyster with barbecue and bacon but not the sbut not the scallops I had as they were not cooked through.

I reckon it would be better if the oysters were cooked with the heat from the bottom instead of the top which makes the oysters dry.

Zeps Cafe, Campbell Town

After our one day trip in Hobart, we then went to Freycinet Lodge, Freycinet National Park and it takes about 4 hours driving. On our way to there, we passed by a small town called Campbell Town and its also one of the town that definitely everyone will pass by.

After a short walk, we decided to come into Zeps Cafe as their risotto dish that written on the special menu board attracted us to go into it.

Chicken & Vegetables Soup

When my dad told us that he ordered the soup above, by just listening to what he told is we'll just think that he's wasting money by ordering soup. But once it turned up and tasted, we were so surprised by the taste and the numbers of ingredients that are boiled together to produce such nice soup.

Spicy King Prawn, Green Pea & Chorizo Sausage Risotto

Risotto is one of my favourite dish after spaghetti. By just the name on the special menu board, it attracted me to go into this cafe to try it out. Honestly, the prawn is not spicy at all as referring to dish name it supposed to be spicy. Overall the risotto is really nice besides there is some mistaken with naming the prawn as "Spicy" king prawn which is not spicy at all.

Seared Scallops on Fondant Potatoes, Sautéed Leek with Garlic & Lemon grass Butter Sauce

I've also ordered one of their scallop dish above. When ordering, I actually didn't know that its such a healthy dish as it's full of vegetables.With the number of scallops that they gave us, the only thing I can say is worth to order for scallops lovers.

Even though prawns and scallop are not that fresh compared to those in city like Hobart, Zeps Cafe had really created a few healthy dishes for its customer to choose.

Ball & Chain Grill

Hey guys ! FnP is back and let's get back to my journey of foods in Tasmania. After a long day in Brunny Island, we decided to come back to Salamanca Place for this Ball & Chain Grill.

From the outside you may feel that Salamanca place is quiet and there won't be much of a crowd during the night, but surprisingly there are a lot of people inside this restaurant.

Each person can get their starters from the salad bar and I find their rice pretty nice.

Oyster Kill Patrick

This is the 1st time I had the Oyster Kill Patrick. The bacon is really juicy with the sweetness of the barbecue sauce and the acidity from the lemon juice.

Tasmanian Seafood Steak of the Day - "Fried" Flat Head

The Flat Head that I've ordered is just a simple marinated herb fried fish. I find it a bit pricey as the portion is not that big compared to other dishes.

The taste is not bad but it's kinda dry for this. Not recommended to order.

Scotch Fillet

My parents they ordered the the juicy scotch fillet with an eye of fat which enchance the flavour. According to them, this is the best in Hobart! To with this scotch fillet you have a selection of sauces to choose from which includes plum and ginger, Ball & Chain barbecue, satay and etc.

Pancake Train, Margate

Tasmania has such beautiful scenery and delicious food that I couldn't stop taking photos and introduce the places to all of you guys who read my blog.

1st stop that I'll bring you guys to is this place that serves very nice pancakes. The unique thing bout this place is that the shops are on an old train. Other than enjoying nice food and views, you can also get to experience eating on the train.

Beef Strogonoff

Everything here is served with pancakes. This is the beef strogonoff with beef strips in a rich sauce seasoned with dijion mustard. According to my dad, that's by far the nicest beef strogonoff he has ever had.

Rocky Road

I really like the Rocky Road, the pancakes are served with rich chocolate ice cream, chocolate mousse, marshmallow and peanuts. I would prefer to have this with lesser mousse and more chocolate ice cream.

Berry Delight

Berry Delight here is served with different types of berries such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, boysenberries and blackberries. To my surprise, this pancake dish is not very sweet.

The pancake train is operated by a young couple, too bad they don't serve dinner and are only open from 9am to 5pm. Therefore, be sure to make it early if you don't want to miss out the extra delicious pancakes here!
